Histopathology

The Department offers clinical operations with specialized units for tissue analysis and mortuary services.

Operational Units:

• Mortuary
• Histopathology laboratory

Services Offered:

• Cytopathology of patient's tissue samples
• Histology of patient's tissue samples
• Post-mortem examination of dead bodies
• Embalmment of dead bodies
• Storage of dead bodies

Mortuary Facilities:

• Old mortuary: Two (2) twelve-layer cooling chambers with maximum storage capacity of 24 corpses per time
• New mortuary: Three (3) six-layer cooling chambers with maximum storage capacity of 18 corpses per time
• Total storage capacity: 42 corpses per time

Collaborations: The mortuary unit works closely with the Accident and Emergency, Environmental Health, and Medical Social Services Departments for effective service delivery.

Operating Hours: Offers 24-hour services.
