Medical Social Services
The Department is mandated to provide psychosocial support to patients and their families, addressing social, emotional, and financial needs related to illness and healthcare.
Services Rendered:
- Instituting social intervention to unknown patients through the hospital and informing the relatives on the challenges of victims of assault, accident or any emergency care
- Contact tracing of patients involved in road traffic accident
- Community liaison services
- HIV counselling and testing services
- Contact tracing of absconded patients
- Sourcing financial support for indigent patients to settle bills
- Repatriation services to abandoned patients
- Burial of unknown corpses with unidentified relatives
- Liaison services to social agencies such as faith-based organizations
Days of Activities: The Department runs 24 hours shift duties and covers all the treatment points in the hospital.
