The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Jalingo has commissioned six major legacy healthcare projects, marking a significant milestone in the Centre's drive to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and expand access to quality medical services across Taraba State.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Saturday, 8th August 2026, at the Federal Medical Centre Jalingo, formed part of activities marking the 58th birthday anniversary of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda. The six projects, executed under the leadership of the Medical Director, Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu, were officially commissioned by Professor Yilwatda himself.

2.   Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate Kidney Center

3. Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe Auditorium Complex

4. Dr. Daniel Nyah Bobzom Critical Care Unit

5.  Dr. Dahiru Idris Balasa Theatre Complex

6.   Muhammed Murtala Saleh Accident and Emergency Complex

A Wider Outreach Across Taraba State

The commissioning ceremony coincided with the culmination of a free medical outreach programme sponsored through Professor Yilwatda's special intervention in celebration of his birthday. The outreach, meant to deliver specialist tertiary healthcare services across the three senatorial districts of Taraba State through Federal Medical Centre Jalingo, Federal University Teaching Hospital Wukari, and the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Jalingo, while selected General Hospitals across the state provided secondary and primary healthcare services.

The event was attended by the Executive Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas, alongside Honourable Minister of Health, Professor Muhammed Ali Pate and other distinguished guests who accompanied the APC National Chairman to the Centre.

Yilwatda on his 58th birthday anniversary, describing the six commissioned facilities as evidence of the Centre's ongoing commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and expanding access to quality healthcare services for the people of Taraba State and beyond. The Centre also extended a warm welcome to Governor Agbu Kefas and all dignitaries present, wishing Professor Yilwatda good health, wisdom, and continued success in his service to the nation.
